Vintage weather conditions: A vintage memorable for its ideal alternation between dry spells and rainfall. The winter was characterized by significant precipitation and temperatures that were not overly harsh; this was followed by a spring that was milder and drier than average, a circumstance that encouraged the vines' vegetative stages to begin slightly earlier. Thanks to frequent rains in June and July, the vine canopies were particularly lush, which kept average temperatures in the vineyard lower and generally cool. Finally, sunny weather in August and some September rain led to a slightly early harvest that was nonetheless generous and yielded grapes of great concentration.

Vinification: Hand-harvesting of selected bunches into 15 kg crates, destemming and gentle pressing of the grapes, skin maceration, temperature-controlled fermentation, aging in stainless steel tanks on the fine lees, followed by a final 24 months of bottle aging.

Color: The wine displays a vibrant golden-yellow hue with subtle greenish highlights.

Nose: Distinct aromas of quince, dried yellow apple, and fresh Annurca apple emerge, giving way to notes of licorice root, menthol, white truffle, and chestnut honey; gradually, fresh hints of jasmine become apparent, alongside nuances of candied orange peel, kumquat, and lemon granita, as well as a wealth of mineral qualities and Fiano’s signature smoky touch.

Palate: A tannic impression is perceptible on the palate; the wine subsequently reveals a soft, creamy texture in later sips, consistently accompanied by a pronounced saline quality that lends depth and exceptional persistence to the tasting experience. The 1993 vintage possesses an infinite capacity to evolve in the glass, making the tasting experience captivating and truly unique.
